Shooting Sports Certification Training

If you are interested in becoming a Certified Shooting Sports Leader, in any discipline, trainings will be offered across the state this Spring. To attend the training, you must be an enrolled, approved leader for Weld County 4-H. This requires online training videos, background check, and reference check.

Dates for the coming trainings are listed below. There will be a limited number of slots per discipline. You must be an approved leader to sign up for the training.  The process of becoming a leader can take 3 weeks.

There are only 4 shooting sports certification workshops in the state including:

  • Morgan County (Fort Morgan), March 8 – March 10, 2019 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and Archery.  Registration opens January 25, 2019 and registration closes February 22, 2019.
  • Pueblo County (Pueblo), March 22 – March 24, 2019 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Muzzleloader, Western Heritage and Hunting/Outdoor Skills.  Registration opens February 8, 2019 and registration closes March 8, 2019.
  • Garfield County (Rifle), March 29 - March 31, 2019 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun, Archery, Muzzleloader, Western Heritage and Hunting/Outdoor Skills.  Registration opens February 15, 2019 and registration closes March 15, 2019.
  • Boulder County (Longmont), April 5 – April 7, 2019 for Rifle, Pistol, Shotgun and Archery.  Registration opens February 22, 2019 and registration closes March 22, 2019.
